e-Management announces 4-year university scholarship winner

 

September 22, 2009 – Ayoyinka Akingbade of College Park, Md., is the winner of the $10,000 e‑Management scholarship. The scholarship award caps the celebration of e‑Management’s 10-year anniversary. Ms. Akingbade will also receive a paid internship at e-Management during the summer months. To be eligible for the scholarship, the winner had to be an incoming 2009 University of Maryland student enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program in information technology or business.

 

“This inaugural scholarship from e-Management is the result of asking our employees for suggestions on how we could celebrate our anniversary,” said Ola Sage, president and CEO. “This idea demonstrates our commitment to academic excellence as well as our way to give back to our community.”

 

Ms. Akingbade was an honor roll student from Charles H. Flowers High School, who graduated in the top five percent in the State of Maryland. She began her studies this Fall as a freshman accounting major and plans to become a certified public accountant (CPA). 

 

“With the present economic state, it has been very difficult receiving loans, grants, and scholarships. As a freshman with many years of college ahead of me, this scholarship will help me financially as I work towards receiving my Bachelor’s degree,” said Ms. Akingbade. “I hope in the future that I will be able to give back to the community, just as [e-Management] has given to me.”
