According to WIT, the organization received an unprecedented number of nominations. Thirty-nine finalists were selected to represent the 10 award categories. The awards gala also had record attendance, almost doubling in size from the previous year.
WIT is the premiere organization empowering women to be architects of change in the technology industry. The annual awards program honors leading female professionals working in the Greater Washington, D.C., metropolitan area who have exemplified unique vision and talent in the technology industry over the previous year.
The 2010 Leadership Awards program

on the technology industry. The awards drew upon
WIT’s spirit to honor women who connect, lead, and succeed in their
professional endeavors and communities.

Winners were thoroughly reviewed and selected by judging panel, which was made up of industry leaders from prominent media, academia, companies and professional organizations.
